8 Amazing Benefits Of Working From Home As a Freelancer

Benefits Of Working From Home

8 Reasons Why Freelancing Is Better Than A Normal Job (Benefits Of Working From Home)

Have you ever thought about becoming a freelancer?

If yes, then you are probably taking the right decision since freelancing  and working at home has multiple benefits over regular life draining 9-5 jobs.

In fact, you are not the only one who is planning to become a freelancer. According to a study conducted by Intuit [link], 40% of America’s workforce will be freelancers by 2020. Working from home has become really popular in the last years.

But is it worth it?

From my personal experience, it is totally worth it.

And let’s see which are the 8 top reasons that – in my opinion – make freelancing a much better choice than a regular job:

1.You Can Take A Break Whenever You Want

For me, that’s the biggest benefit of working from home.

When you work at a regular 9-5 job you are not allowed to leave until it’s 5 pm. You can’t take an 1 hour break to eat. You can’t take the dog for a walk and you can’t meet your friends for a coffee.

On the other hand, let’s say you are freelancing. You work 1-2 hours and finish the most urgent projects. Then, if you want, you can take a big break.

Forget about constant frugality. Let me show you how to make more money, starting TODAY!

No games. No BS. No spam

You can watch a movie and don’t do anything related to your work for the next 14 hours. Or you can take a break and cook your lunch.

When you work at a regular job you can never do any of these. You are locked in a building until your boss says that you can leave.

And only then you are allowed to take a break. And you can do it only if you are not exhausted from the day before.

2.You Never Have To Deal With Annoying Colleagues

Everybody who has worked a conventional 9-5 job had to deal with an incredibly irritating and annoying colleague at least once.

There are several types of people who you can meet at a regular job. For me, the most annoying one was the “Do you know who I am?” type of person.

You know, the man/woman who has never accomplished anything in life and thinks that he/she is entitled to act like the king just because his/her daddy owns the company.

Or the type of guy who has countless perks only because he knew someone at the top. That person always tends to believe that he has some sort of authority and expresses that authority mostly by being arrogant.

And when you go against him you will hear the classic: “Do you know who I am?” And even if you want to drop a giant F-Bomb you stop yourself at the last-minute just because he is the nephew of your boss.

3.You Control How Much Money You Make.

When working as a freelancer, the amount of money you make is directly related to your personal effort.

If you want to make more money you have to hustle more. You have to read more, start thinking and broaden your horizons.

As soon as you do that, you will probably make more money. If you want, you can even triple your freelancing income. On the other hand, working at a regular job will probably make you lazy and complacent.

Most of the times – when you know that you have a standard paycheck – you don’t have a strong motive to push you achieve more, become better at your job and therefore: make more money.

You get compromised with your paycheck and become lazy. And if you dare to ask for a rise, you will be lucky if you get a polite “no” as a response. Imagine if you told your boss that you want him to triple your paycheck.

4.You Are Able To Travel While You Are Working

The previous month I went for a short 3 day trip.

I worked from my hotel room for about 2-3 hours per day. The rest of the day I enjoyed my hotel’s amenities, went for sightseeing and relaxed while drinking margaritas at the local beach bar.

And I was able to do this thanks to my freelancing job. When you work as a freelancer, you can have a vacation whenever you want (sort of).

No need to ask the boss for a vacation leave. No need for time-wasting and exhausting bureaucracy.

You simply book the tickets and go!

5.You Can Make Money While You Sleep (sort of)

Today I woke up and logged in to my fiverr account to answer my messages. After I replied to my potential clients I checked if I had new orders.

Do you know how awesome it feels to wake up and see that you have 4 orders of 200$ in total? And all I did while these people invested their money on my service was to enjoy a deep and restful sleep.

Sure, it’s not passive income. You don’t always make money when you sleep without never working. But the feeling of waking up and knowing that you have just paid the groceries for the next 2 weeks is simply awesome.

As far as I can remember none of my previous bosses would ever give me 200$ as soon as I woke up.

6.Save Money – Time & Get Rid Of Unwanted Worries

I know people who drive 2 hours per day to go to their jobs. They are stuck in traffic, wasting 2 precious hours while also spending a nice amount of money for gasoline.

Not only 10% of their paycheck goes for gasoline, but they also have to deal with the constant stress of arriving at work on time.

They have to worry if they get stuck in traffic, they have to worry if they have forgotten something at home and they have to worry whether the chicken or the egg came first!

No thanks!

7.All You Need Is a Laptop & Internet Connection

When it comes to freelancing, one great benefit is that everyone can do it. You don’t need to have a degree to work as a freelancer.

You don’t need to know someone who knows someone who can give you a job. You don’t have to beg for a job – I have seen that happening many times.

All you need is your laptop, internet connection and willingness to learn. Beyond that, it all comes down to how much you are eager to work for your goals.

8.You Can Use The “F” Word Without Being Censored

Have you ever dealt with clients who expect the world from you? Have you ever dealt with people who are so incredibly annoying that you think their brain has the size of a peanut?

I am sure you had. But when you work at a regular 9-5 job you have to compromise yourself. And shut down your urges to kick these people in the ass.

Ok, I wouldn’t really like to kick anyone in the ass no matter how dumb he is. But when I used to work for other people – there were many times that I wanted to drop an “F-Bomb” – but I couldn’t.

Why? Because I knew that I would be jobless 5 minutes after that. As a result, I had to do my best to satisfy people who could never be satisfied.

Sometimes, when you work at a regular job there are people who think that they rule the world and you exist to serve them.

When you work as a freelancer, you have the power to choose with whom you work. If a client is annoying, manipulative and expects the whole world for 5$ – there is absolutely no problem!

You simply drop a giant “F-Bomb” and he will never hear you. Then you just cancel the order and move on with the next one.

Conclusion

In my opinion, the benefits of working from home outrank the disadvantages.

While I think that freelancing is 95% better than a regular 9-5 job, it has its pros and cons. But when it comes to freedom, it can give you more than a regular job can.

And having freedom of choice is one of the most important aspects of a job. So, if you want more freedom, you could definitely try working as a freelancer and see how it goes.
